Once you've learned what naturalization is and if you want to apply, you will need to begin the naturalization process.
The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has prepared A Guide to Naturalization which explains who can apply for U.S. citizenship and how to complete the application.
Basic Steps
- Complete Naturalization Eligibility Worksheet
- Get an "Application for Naturalization" (Form N-400)
- Complete your application
- Collect the necessary documents
- Send your application, documents, and fee to appropriate Service Center
- Receive an appointment letter from USCIS with further instructions
