What Happens To the Items I Recycle?

WIRC upcycles cell phones and other electronics when possible. Other items are processed and shipped to a reclamation unit where heavy metals and other dangerous elements are removed for reuse and to keep them from the landfill.

What Do I Do With The Items I Can't Recycle at WIRC?

For appliances, please check with your waste hauler. For chemicals WIRC cannot accept, please check with your local health department as many communities organize a dangerous chemical disposal day once each year.
